Emerald Angel Gown Program

Psalm 18:2"The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold."

My words will never be enough to express the sorrow I feel for the loss of one's child. No words can express the pain many parents go through. Those we love don't go away. They walk beside us everyday. Unseen, unheard, but always near. Still loved, still missed, and very dear. Our children live in our memories forever. I can't begin to imagine the heartbreak you are experiencing. My heart aches for you and your family. I know there is nothing that will take this pain away, but I can offer to be with you during this awful time and hopefully provide a source to take strength from, and offer to provide you one less worry in all of this pain with your Angel's attire. Whenever you're ready we are all here to serve you. We want to be there for you and your family. I am deeply sorry you are having to go through this. May you find comfort in God and the strength He brings as you mourn the loss of your child. Please be patient with yourself and  take all the time you need. We will be waiting and ready to help when you are ready to talk.

"…weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.”
– Psalm 30:5

3 ways you can make a difference:

Join. Donate new or used formal attire from wedding gowns to wedding party attire & accessories, special occasion gowns, suits and accessories from Proms, Quince's, Homecoming, holiday's, cruises and others formal events.

Design. While your donation is deconstructed and re-envisioned we invite you to be involved in the design process through our "design remembrance" offer. Our "design remembrance" donation offer extends our upmost gratitude of your generous donations by providing you a "keepsake" item made from your donated items. Our designers will work closely with you to determine what the design will be based on the materials of the donated item(s). Some examples of these keepsakes may include handkerchiefs, a Christmas ornament, a ring pillow cover for future weddings, a baby bonnet, a handmade embroidery piece to be later sewn into future wedding attire, baptismal attire, photo albums and frames, shadow boxes, blankets and more. We are only able to provide one custom piece per donated item at this time but we are happy to return as much material as you request for your personal use for other keepsake items. Any material you are willing to allow us to keep and use for our angel gowns and angel attire is greatly appreciated.

Repurpose. Once your donated items have been transformed into angel gowns and angel attire we will photograph the item(s) before gifting (donating) them, and if requested send notice (to include a photo) to you. Though we understand how deeply connected many may feel to their donated items we are unfortunately (out of privacy and respect) not able to provide specific details about where or to whom the items have been gifted. We are not able to guarantee that your item(s) will go directly to specific families or specific locations. If you or someone you know is directly in need, please do not hesitate to contact us directly and we will ensure that your needs are met and that you receive angel gowns and angel attire. If you or anyone you know has items that you would like to be directly donated to your angel gowns or angel attire we will absolutely guarantee those donated items are used specifically for your designs. All other donations will be graciously used for unspecified families.

Ways to support

Make a big impact in the lives of bereaved families by sending in your new or used formal wear to Emerald Angel Gowns by Little Castle Designs - Contact us directly to talk about delivery options. Our preferred method of receiving donations is by mail, but we are happy to arrange local pickup in the Greater Austin Metropolitan Area. We ask that you kindly do your best to clean your items before donating, but it is not required. We are not able to accept donations that have been around smoke/smoking due to the delicate nature of these gifted items to the recipients. If you are unsure if the item(s) have been smoked in/around smoking please contact us directly to discuss further so that we may determine the best options. Donations that have rips, holes, or stains are perfectly acceptable donations and gladly accepted, however we do ask that you have them cleaned prior to donating them if they are dirty and have not be laundered since being worn. Any items that are not laundered or dry cleaned prior to donating will be cleaned, as with all donations, but we may not be able to accept them depending on the condition of the item. We kindly ask that you help us in our acceptance process by having allowed the items to be pre-cleaned at least once before donating so that we are able to help as many families as possible. We make every effort to use every bit of the donated items, that are usable, and any damaged sections that are not usable will be recycled if possible. There is no need to cover garments in garment bags or place them in special packaging prior to shipping but we do ask that care is taken when packing to minimize any damage before shipping, during shipping, or upon receiving from shipping. We accept all styles, sizes, materials, colors, and prints.

We are happy to provide other "design remembrance" keepsakes from other items (such as old shirts, old toys, old blankets etc) to those who wish to make a small monetary donation to help us process angel gowns from other donors. The typical costs to process formal attire, not including cleaning, is around $35 before labor. Though we are blessed with selfless volunteers who create these beautiful angel gowns we do try to ensure we are able to supply the seamstresses with as many materials needed to complete the projects. Materials include new fabrics, new trims & laces, threads & notions, embroidery supplies, packing & shipping materials, and postage.
